The CLAT Legal Reasoning section assesses your ability to read, understand, and apply given legal principles (or rules) to various factual scenarios. You will NOT be tested on your pre-existing knowledge of law. All necessary rules will be provided within the passage.
Your primary task is to identify the rules, dissect the facts, and logically apply the rules to the facts to arrive at a conclusion. A general awareness of contemporary legal and moral issues (from current affairs) can help in understanding context, but is not a substitute for rule-application skills.
(Highest Priority) Master applying given legal rules to diverse factual scenarios without prior knowledge.
(Medium Priority (Contextual)) Understand the facts and implications of recent legal developments as presented in passages.
(Medium Priority (Skill Overlap)) Analyze arguments in legal contexts, drawing inferences and evaluating claims based on given rules.
You've reviewed the concepts. Now, apply them in a real test environment.
